Movember – Wotsat all about………..
Movember……Its all about supporting the fight against prostate cancer, Raising the awareness on a global scale. The campaign involves guys doing what they do best – nothing – well nothing as regards to shaving, The idea is to see who has the wackiest moustaches at the end of Movember, So they have a month to show some growth….. Obtaining sponsorship along the way….in aid of a great cause.
The guys from the Slaters Arms in Bradley have got together and Geordie Jim Thompsons boys have set off at a blistering pace having raised some £3000 to date. In fact they are in the top 200 fundraisers, (no176 this morning). Visit Jims facebook page and see if you can support him. Euro-Tran will donate a prize for the wackiest moustache, and bearing in mind this months prize on our website is a Kindle – we will now donate a second kindle to Geordie Jims campaign – Good Luck lads…..should be some good photos at the end of Movember…..On December the 5th a great night is planned at the Slaters Arms in Bradley when all the results of the lads efforts will be on show. There will be an auction of some 15 prizes donated by locals, and local businesses. A band and lots of banter mean a good night will be had by all. If you can support Jims efforts please do so – EVERY £1 HELPS, So if you want to get into the mood for Christmas early just pop along to the Slaters for a great night out..

APC Overnight has invested in a custom-built Strategic Support Vehicle to promote its next day delivery business. Cambridgeshire firm Freeway Trailers built the special vehicle to APC Overnight’s own specification. The multi-purpose vehicle provides an emergency depot solution, mobile exhibition stand and classroom for depot staff training.

The Strategic Support Vehicle has advanced mobile communications, touch screen computers, printers and high-speed broadband. The equipment connects the vehicle to APC Overnight’s systems and network as if it was a permanent site. Measuring 4.25 metres in length, the vehicle is built on the latest Mercedes Sprinter Euro 5 long wheelbase rolling chassis.

“The Strategic Support Vehicle serves many purposes. It can be utilised as a disaster recovery vehicle should the need arise. The vehicle can be mobilised immediately and despatched to any part of the UK and used as a temporary depot. It has all the equipment required to operate as fully functional administration department, just like a normal operational depot within the network,” says Colin Clark, Network Projects Manager at APC Overnight headquarters.

The vehicle has appeared at several important events, including the Kent County Show and Three Counties Show in Malvern. It will also appear at the Royal County of Berkshire Show, this autumn.

“The vehicle is set up as an onsite parcel centre allowing event visitors to ship anything they buy direct to their offices, homes or colleagues. It attracts much attention and allows us to demonstrate what APC Overnight is about to other exhibitors and visitors. We invite them on to the vehicle where we can demonstrate our IT systems and service offerings. We can also use it as a mobile classroom for onsite training,” he adds.

APC Overnight also offers the use of the vehicle to its members for their own local events, where the high-profile liveried vehicle will help promote the work and services of the local APC depot.

“The vehicle is a resource for the entire APC network. We encourage our members to use the vehicle to help promote their APC Overnight services. They simply have to contact our headquarters to discuss their need for the vehicle,” ends Colin Clark.
