Christmas 2012 Operating Schedule.

PARCELS

FRIDAY 21st Dec. – Normal Delivery Service – Normal Collection Service – Collections for Delivery Saturday AM and Monday AM ONLY any goods manifested on an overnight service may be delivered Thursday 27th of December. IF IT HAS TO BE THERE FOR XMAS EVE THEN IT MUST BE MANIFESTED FOR AM DELIVERY.

SATURDAY 22nd Dec. – Normal Saturday AM service in place – SUNDAY 23rd Dec. closed

MONDAY 24th Dec – AM Deliveries only – Depot open until 2pm

TUESDAY 25th and WEDNESDAY 26th Dec. Closed.

THURSDAY 27th Dec. and FRIDAY 28th Dec. – Collection by prior arrangement/skeleton staffing

SATURDAY 29th Dec. Normal Saturday AM service – SUNDAY 30th Dec. Closed

MONDAY 31st Dec. AM Delivery service only -Depot closes 2pm - TUESDAY 1st January 2013 Depot Closed.

WEDNESDAY 2nd Jan. Normal Service resumes except Scotland - WEDNESDAY 2nd Jan. SCOTLAND HOLIDAY.

PALLET OPERATIONS.

FRIDAY 21st DECEMBER Normal delivery service, Normal collection service, Collections for Saturday AM – Monday AM Delivery. GOODS MANIFESTED ON STANDARD 24 HOUR DELIVERY WILL BE DELIVERED WHEN NETWORK RE-OPENS Wednesday 2nd January. The pallet network is closed from 12 noon Monday 24th December until 8am Wednesday 2nd January

Changeover Day.

After a decade working with Uk Pallets, Euro-Tran Despatch begins work with our new partners at the UPN Pallet Network today Monday 16th of July. Deciding last year that we needed to find a network with better IT and Tracking procedures we have completed our six months notice and tonight we change. We would like to thank UK pallets for the service provided for over a decade, (Before Uk mail bought the network several years ago we were partners within Weaver Pallet express as it was then known.) and we wish them well for the future.

A new era starts today and we are excited at the new experience.

Olympic Update.

Dear Valued Customer

The countdown for the 2012 London Olympics has started. These games are the largest sporting event ever staged in the UK and have been hailed by Peter Hendy – London’s Transport Commissioner as “Britain’s largest peacetime logistical exercise”.

The expected number of spectators alone is estimated at 9 million plus, this in addition to all the Athletes and Officials, will have a tremendous impact on all businesses. Not only in central London, but also other parts of the UK where events are taking place.

With the changes to routes, road closures and additional vehicle security there will inevitably be disruptions and obstacles to overcome.

We have been working very closely with the Olympic Working Party for a number of months to ensure that the disruption is kept to a minimum, in the run up to and during the weeks of the games.

There will be additional vehicles operating within the severely impacted areas to maintain our high service levels. Despite this there may be circumstances beyond our control where deliveries / collections may be affected.

Please be absolutely confident that APC Overnight will provide its very best endeavours throughout this challenging period. An Olympic guide is available from our Ron Roberts which indicates ORNs/PRNs Olympic Lockdown areas etc, and best advice to clients during the games. Please call and Ron will e-mail you a copy.

Diamond Jubilee Holiday

As you are all no doubt aware. Euro-Tran Despatch/ APC offices will be closed on Monday the 4th June / Tuesday the 5th June due to the re-arranged bank holiday and the Queens Jubilee Celebrations. All Friday despatches will therefore (Unless booked for a Saturday premium delivery) arrive with your clients on Wednesday the 6th June.

Whatever you get up to over the extended weekend we hope you enjoy it. Have a good one.

Preventing Business Crime.

We have today attended a meeting of local business representatives at the Skipton Business Watch. Many of the Snaygill/Airedale Business Park Companies were represented. The objective of the scheme is to enable local business’s to pool resource together for the benefit of the business Community, in Particular Crime Prevention. This is something we as a company have long since placed a priority on and lets hope the scheme moves forward. As a local trader we shall contact many of the companies on the estate with a view to learning more about what we can do to help ourselves as a business community. Thanks to all those attending.

Another APC accolade

APC received further testimony to its standing in the Overnight Parcels Sector when it was this week ranked 66th in the FINANCIAL TIMES PROFIT TRACK 100. Researched and compiled by FASTRACK, and sponsored by Price Wayerhouse Coopers the survey lists the top 100 profit builders in the current economic marketplace. Its further indication that there is an increasing awareness within industry and the private sector of the robustness of the APC Brand, and its ability to delivery. APC were the only company in the 100 representing our troubled industry. Well done APC.

Easter Schedule

Its been another hectic run in to the Easter break with adverse weather affecting many parts. PARCELS – Our Thursday (5th April) collection is for next Tuesday (10th April) delivery. A Saturday AM delivery option is available. Next collection for overnight delivery is Tuesday the 10th when normal services resume. PALLETS – The Pallet Network has not offered us a Saturday option this year. If however you have an urgent pallet we will try to arrange something with the local depot. Best wishes to all for a happy and enjoyable Easter break.

APC take Business of the Year award

APC has crowned a dramatic year by walking away with the West Midlands Business of the Year title. Sponsored by the EXPRESS AND STAR.

Chief executive Syed Ziaullah said: “This is truly amazing. This is a true endorsement and demonstrates the passion and hard work of everyone at APC.”

It comes after the Essington company announced plans for a £12 million new sorting centre to be built in Cannock this year, creating 300 new jobs, in the wake of a 70 per cent hike in profits in 2011.

Winner of our i-pad competition

We have a winner for our i-pad competition. So many of the entrants confused the launch of APC with the launch of Euro-Tran Despatch. So to set the record straight.
Euro-Tran Despatch first launched in May 1987. Thats right – in May this year we celebrate 25 years in business.. APC was incorporated ‘Sept 93′ … first Director was named ‘Nov 93′ but the year we were looking for was when we formed to move the first parcels –
28th February 1994 – Thats right 18 years ago TODAY…..

Only 12 people from 7 different companies went into the hat with the correct answer.

The lucky winner was Charlotte Moran from R A Medical in Steeton. .
Congratulations to Charlotte, Our Ron Roberts will get the prize to you by the end of the week. A new competition will be launched in March.
