The average price of diesel in the Uk has overtaken the record set in May last year hitting 143.05p per litre. Since peaking at 143.04p on May 5 last year the pump price of diesel fell back to 137.59p in july before starting to climb again steadily.Two years ago diesel in the Uk cost 113.62p per litre, Petrol costs remain below last years prices.Uncertainty in the market has been blamed – Concerns over middle east supply. Brent crude has risen by $8 a barrel this month alone, this despite the International Energy Agencys forecast for lower Oil consumption requirements in 2012.
